Itinerary

DAY 01: ARRIVAL AT SRINAGAR

Upon arrival at Srinagar Sheikh Ul Alam International Airport (This must be one of the most scenic flights in the world), Srinagar is popularly known as the “City of Reshi’s & Sufi’s” and it is also the Summer capital of the state of Jammu & Kashmir. You will be met by our representative and transferred to the pre-arranged hotel. On arrival at Srinagar, we check in to the pre-arranged hotel. Later, we start our sightseeing tour by visiting the Shankaracharya Temple.

It is believed that it was the place where the great philosopher and saint Shankaracharya stayed when he visited Kashmir ten centuries ago to revive Sanatan Dharma. The original ceiling was dome-shaped, and the brick roof is not more than a century old.

In the afternoon, we take a visit to the Mughal Gardens: Nishat Garden, known as the ‘Garden of Pleasure,’ built in the 16th century (1633) by Mughal King Asif Khan. Then, visit Shalimar Garden, known as the ‘Garden of Love,’ built in the 16th century (1619) by Mughal King Jahangir for his beloved wife Noor Jahan (Mehr-un-Nissa) & Chashmashahi (The Royal Spring). The Chashmashahi Mughal garden in Srinagar had been loved by emperors and picnickers alike. Dinner & overnight stay at the hotel.

DAY 02: SRINAGAR TO SONMARG (DAY EXCURSION TO SONMARG) 87 Kms – 04 Hrs One Way

After a leisurely breakfast, we check out from the hotel and transfer to Sonmarg. We depart on an excursion to Sonmarg. Sonmarg, which means "Meadow of Gold," has its backdrop of snowy mountains against the blue sky. The drive offers incredible scenic beauty, dense pine forests, and gigantic mountains. The place provides an ideal base for various trekking routes, high mountain lakes, glaciers, and the Sri Amarnath Holy cave. The river meanders along here and abounds with Trout & Mahseer. Sonamarg’s importance lies in the fact that it is the last halt on the Kashmir side for the drive from Srinagar to Leh. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Srinagar.

DAY 03: SRINAGAR TO GULMARG (DAY EXCURSION TO GULMARG) 60 Kms – 02 Hrs One Way

Early morning, we proceed to Gulmarg, driving past willow trees, fast-flowing streams, and lush green meadows. Gulmarg - the meadow of flowers is an apt term for this idyllic flower-laden meadow offering a spectacular view of towering snow-capped peaks covered with dense forests of tall conifers and gigantic fir and pine trees. Stroll leisurely or take pony rides (by your own payment) across the green meadow to one of the world's highest golf courses. A must is a fun-filled ride in the Gondola lift (by your own payment). Return to Srinagar in the evening and enjoy a comfortable overnight stay at the hotel.

DAY 04: SRINAGAR TO PAHALGAM (102 Kms – 03 Hrs One Way)

After a leisurely breakfast, we check out from the houseboat and leave for an overnight stay at "Pahalgam," called the "Valley of Shepherds." Pahalgam is situated at the confluence of the streams flowing from Sheshnag Lake and the Lidder River. Pahalgam (2,130 m) was once a humble shepherd's village with breathtaking views. En route, visit saffron fields & 19th-century Awantipura Ruins. Upon arrival, check in to the pre-arranged hotel. The rest of the day is free to enjoy and explore the beauty of "Pahalgam" (on your own). One can go to Aru (10 km from Pahalgam), which is a fine meadow of picturesque scenery and the starting point of trekking to (Lidderwat, Kolahoi Glacier & Tarsar Lake) & Betaab Valley.

ARU VALLEY

It is located around 12 km from Pahalgam, 11 km upstream from the Lidder River. Noted for its scenic meadows, lakes, and mountains, it is a base camp for trekking to the Kolhoi Glacier and Tarsar Lake. The village lies on the left bank of the Aru River, which is a tributary of the LidderRiver. The Aru Valley is noted for its scenic meadows. It is popular among tourists for its peaceful environment and scenic beauty. Other popular tourist activities include fishing for trout in the Lidder River, trekking, hiking, horse riding, sightseeing, and photography.

BETAAB VALLEY

Situated at a distance of 15 kilometers from Pahalgam. The valley got its name from the Sunny Deol– Amrita Singh hit debut film "Betaab." The valley is surrounded by lush green meadows, snow-clad mountains, and covered with dense vegetation. Betaab Valley is a very popular tourist destination. Betaab Valley is also a favorite campsite of travelers as it also serves as a base camp for trekking and further exploration of the mountains. The valley is a walkable distance from Pahalgam. The crystal-clear & chilly water of the stream bubbling down from the snowy hills is a delight; locals here drink this water too. Baisaran and Tulian Lake are a few nearby attractions that can be visited. Dinner and overnight stay at Pahalgam.

DAY 05: PAHALGAM TO SRINAGAR (102 Kms – 03 Hrs One Way)

A warm cup of tea with a delicious breakfast should get you ready for the day of activity. Leave from your hotel refreshed and satiated with your breakfast and move towards Srinagar. Check in at the Super Deluxe houseboat, freshen up and relax in the luxury of the royal hospitality. In the evening, enjoy a Shikara ride on Dal Lake and witness the marvel of nature that is beyond visual and verbal descriptions. The sunset view from the Shikara will engulf your heart and leave you spellbound. Later, enjoy the welcome dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

DAY 06: DEPART SRINAGAR (FLY OUT)

A warm cup of tea with a delicious breakfast should get you ready for the airport. Leave from your hotel refreshed and satiated with your breakfast and move towards Srinagar International Airport.
